Another Rant ………..

The following was received in an e-mail this morning.  I am gob-smacked, to say the least!

* * * * * *

This is interesting!
Let me see if I understand all this ………
IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.
IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.
IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.
IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED.
IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN.
IF YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.
IF YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.

IF YOU CROSS THE BRITISH BOARDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET A JOB, A DRIVERS LICENSE, PENSION CARD, WELFARE, CREDIT CARDS, SUBSIDISED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE, FREE EDUCATION AND FREE HEALTH CARE.  And all this for not putting a penny into the system!!!!

Are you aware of the following?

The British Government provides the following financial assistance: –

BENEFIT                                          BRITISH OAP    REFUGEE/IMMIGRANT
Weekly allowance                                       £100                      £250
Weekly Spouse allowance                           £25                       £225
Weekly hardship allowance                    £0;00                  £100

TOTAL YEARLY BENEFIT                     £6,000                £29,900

If I was a refugee, why would I look for work?

* * * * * *

IF THIS IS 100% TRUE, ITS AN ABSOLUTE FUCKING DISGRACE.

My mum is 71 in August and still works (because she wasnts to), she only receives a paltry £64 a week pension for working all her adult life.  BECAUSE she still works, they add that paltry pension to her wages and she gets TAXED on it.

This post may  be added to as I get more and more pissed off and find more things out.

Some of you may argue that we have leeches of our own who haven’t done a days work in their lives and get benefits themselves.  Well, you can put them in the same category as the immigrants for me!

If I’ve offended anyone with this post, I’m NOT sorry, because I highly doubt that I’m the only person in the UK that thinks this is WRONG!  And, marrying this up with a previous rant, maybe the government are keeping us working longer so we can subsidise this kind of bullshit through our taxes.  Just a thought.

You can comment if you like……don’t be afraid to voice your opinions.

  1. It does make you realise that the lunatics are running our collective assylum! My friend was forced to seek benefits when she finally had to give up work as her MS curtailed her physical abilities. She had to beg, plead and virtually sweat blood to get any allowances and they didn't cover her outgoings. A single mother with an errant ex-husband who managed to wangle a way of paying negligable amounts of support for the kids, she would go to bed hungry at night because she couldn't aford to keep the house warm and feed both herself and the kids. As soon as I found out the pretence she was putting on (because her pride wouldn't let her own up to the truth!) a group of us pitched in and made sure the bills were sorted, including 'hiring' her kids for babysitting and simple chores. And when the boy (aged 15) showed interest in plumbing, a friend of ours took him on as a sort of apprentice and taught him simple things like changing tap washers etc. All of us now have perfectly working taps, needless to say!But our goodwill nearly backfired, when the benefits office found out we were helping her they threatened to make further cuts in her benefits! She's in remission now, and is able to work part-time, but it makes my blood boil when I think what state she might have been in left to the devices of the welfare system. It reminds me of when my kids were small – I was a stay-at-home Mum and we could barely manage on one wage, but I'd do things like envelope stuffing etc., to add a little extra to the kitty. My kids always used to ask how come some of their classmates could have smart new designer-label stuff if neither parent was working yet we always had to turn every penny twice. At least my kids grew up knowing the value of things and the pleasure of finally being able to aford something you really wanted! The Welfare State was set up as a safety-net for crisis situations – now it has become the easy route for feckless layabouts who's only skills seem to be procreating!I despair!OK – that's my five minutes on the soap box. Next?

  2. You can sign me up for the weekly "hardship allowance" whatever the hell that is! I know. It isn't fair. That is NOT right. I'm not 100% sure but here in Canada, I think if you're here illegally, we throw you out. Of course, there are those that know how to work the system somehow. I say we all adopt the Chinese attitude. :)((Hugs))Laura

  3. Here, here, ladies. Look after your own first springs to mind!! Thanks, Sue & laura.

  4. I'd rather see such numbers backed up with documentation before I comment. What do I look like, a talking hairpiece? But, if true, wouldn't you rather have an illegal immigrant get that money than, say, the members of the English national football team? 😉

  5. David, i'm not offended. Above all, because in spain happens the same exact thing. Point. Per. Point. Sorry if i sound racist, but i don't see the point of search for a job (and maintain it, which is harder), and then watch a person who does NOTHING live from MY taxes.

  6. The penalties in the USA (except for Arizona) are much the same as in the UK. Other states are now shunning Arizona and threatening economic boycotts.

  7. Randal – 🙂 The English football team should be made to pay their wages into the pension fund of theis country for their shite performance.Deka – I have no problem whatsoever with people coming into this country and working for a living but, as in your country, it's not right when they enter the country knowing that they are going to get an easy ride. Thanks for your input.Evan – It needs to stop! We need to look after our own before others. Thanks, man.

  8. And that is why in Arizona we passed our law so that we could make the Federal government enforce their law…but as of last week Obama is now sueing the state of Arizona…so that he can look good with Hispanic etc. voters…Arizona is willing to take the heat …walk the walk…and do what we have to do for us to get our state back …are others willing to do the same? And as far as the boycotters …they are only hurting the Mexican workers (the ones that here legally working)…if there are no guests at the hotels, conventions and resort there is no work for them…but all Arizona has gotten is a lot of crap from people saying we are racial profiling..read the law and then deicde…only people that live in the southern part of the states that border Mexico see what is going on…the violence, the damage to the desert and yes,,even the danger of the people crossing the desert in 113° heat.. for what ??? Their is no work here….construction is down to zero in Az..Obama actually said in his speech last week "that it is IMPOSSIBLE to close the borders..they are too vast"..good grief..that is the #1 job of the federal government…to keep our border secure and he says it's IMPOSSIBLE (direct word)…step out of the way then and let someone not worried about re-election do the job…thanks for letting me vent a bit..

  9. Oh, David, one of my favourite pet peeves. Illegal immigration (sometimes under the guise of Refugees) are an absolute minefield in Oz. Our various gvts have been accused of being to strong on incoming "boat-people" – locking them in detention camps until they can provide some sort of prooof that they are genuine refugees. The cost? Depending on where they are housed, up to about $1900 PER DAY – thats right, PER DAY. And millions of hard working Aussies get to foot that bill. It is cheaper for the taxpayer to pay for those in jail, than for those in detention.Secondly, and just a little off point (but I promise, not too much) is our need to be politically correct, looking after the various cultures that come here. Last year, half a dozen pre-schools in Sydney cancelled their Xmas pageant for fear of insulting some other students in the school…fair? I DO NOT THINK SO. You want to come to my country? By all means, if you have a job, or can contribute to our community as a whole, I have absolutely no problem with that. BUT, we are Australian, proudly so, and I think people coming into our country should observe OUR national observances.Lastly, and still on the subject…for those immigrants who break our laws…send them home. I have no time for people who come to our country and pretend they are still living under the same rules as their former homelands. You break our laws…don't put them in jail for the taxpayer to accomodate…send em back to where they come from. I am sure Aussies would even help pay for the plane fare for some of the worst ones.Am I racist? Maybe. Do I care? For my country, absolutely!!

  10. G

Interestingly enough, even though Mexico whines and stomps their collective feet about Arizona's new immigration law and succeeded in filing a "friend of the court brief" in one lawsuit, they don't reciprocate when it comes to illegal immigration to their country,We: we find an illegal and then we jump through hoops before we can deport them (unless they're in one of those sanctuary cities). They: they find an illegal. Throw them on a plane and deport them.

  11. There's been some good points made by others to this post. The seniors here in Canada are treated in the same shabby manner. If thier pension is a bit too much, they claw back some of the health care subsidies. Gain in a small way, lose in another. They always ensure the elders have just enough to pay their bills, a bit of food, and nothing else. It's shocking. It's good of you to point this issue out (though I daresay you've made someone's shite list!)Good post, mate!

  12. Hey David… I feel the same way as you. I'm from across the pond in the US and feel that if my grandparents came over legally and properly and assimilated in a much different wave of American immigration, than no one else today should act like they are entitled to be here. No freebies. Sorry. Sounds harsh but that's how I feel.

  13. I'm not gonna touch the UK situation, but I will say this…"IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT."…seriously, if they enforced the way that they should, there would be a hellva lot less insurgents.

  14. Such behavior in my experience always boils down to some politician or political party looking for votes or cheap labor. Here in the States one party is looking at the former while the other party the latter.

  15. Thanks peeps. Glad it got a few of you " ranting ". Cheers.P.s. Alan – I was probably on someones shite list already ! 🙂

  16. David, you do realize this is a hoax email? It is believed that the email may have originated in Canada years ago.

  17. "The email contains text from a protest email which has been circulating in Australia for some time now, but which may have originated in Canada. Versions also circulate in the United States, and elements even appear in protest emails as far afield as India. The UK version has been adapted, somewhat crudely, for a domestic audience by someone or some organisation unknown. The figures quoted bear no relation whatsoever to the situation in the United Kingdom."www.parliament.uk/briefingpapers/commons/lib/research/…/snsp-05621.pdf
