An Acceptance And Some News……

Acceptance…

Just a quick post.  I was really chuffed yesterday to receive an e-mail from Jessy Marie Roberts, over at Pill Hill Press, that my re-worked story FEEDER has been accepted into the up-coming anthology, Daily Bites Of Flesh.   The word limit for the antho was under 500 words, so I had a bit of work to do with the story and managed to chop 77 words off it, which obviously paid off.  Thanks to Jessy for her time.

Click on the above link, folks, as they are still looking at submissions.

News…

Another site looking for submissions for anthologies is Static Movement.  Click here for all details.

As some of you may have already seen, Thrillers, Killers ‘n’ Chillers will be accepting submission as from tomorrow (July 1st).  Matt Hilton and Col Bury are joined by their new co-editor, Lee Hughes.  As you all know, it is a very busy and popular site, so having Lee onboard is going to even out the work load.

Please note that there are changes to the submission guidelines.  Matt will be looking after Thriller submissions, Col will be looking after Crime subs, and all your gory Horror stories will be looked after by Lee.  Click here for all details.  Well done lads, it’s good to have you back!!

  1. Why is Lee Hughes NOT smiling, I wonder…? (does he know something the other two don't?:-o)You could run a caption contest on this, David! Thanks for the links – and well done, you, for getting your work accepted!! Brilliant!

  2. congrats dave, cutting a favorite story is always a challenge, sounds like you did a great job!

  3. Way to go David. Keep at it.

  4. Congratulations, David. Good for you.

  5. Very well done on the acceptance, bud.And thanks for the TKnC mention. Love the photo, but notice I'm the shortest. I can live with that since my slight paunch has gone! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Congrats on the acceptance of your story!!! And thanks for all the news — I'm always looking for new places to submit and it's nice that you put some up today!

  8. Hey – you changed the picture!Oddly enough, it rather suits them…Matt with a rakish smile, Col looking rather too pleased with himself – Lee, meanwhile looks like the master puppeteer!

  14. Man, that's great news about Feeder. Can't wait to read it. And sometimes, there's nothing like a little slice 'n dice to make a story work.

  15. Congrats on the acceptance David! I love the way PHP keeps turning out quality anthologies.Equally stoked to have TKnC coming back – especially with the addition of Mr. Hughes. This is going to be the 'zine to beat! The Static Movement story is a great one – they picked up everything that was left in the lurch when LGP imploded (they're back in action now though). Chris Bartholemew at Static Movement is a superstar par excellence for rising to that particular challenge. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm in two of the new anthos…)

  16. Great news about the acceptance, David. Can't say the three amigos outfits does anything for those blokes! (PS I hated that movie…"but I'm sure they are very nice guys," he hastily adds.

  17. Thanks for all the updates David and big congrats on getting the rewrite of Feeder accepted at Pill Hill.

  28. Huge congratulations to you, David, and thanks for the plug about TKnC. Hopefully everyone will like the new look.I like the new look you gave me and the other TKnC Dudes. Still chuckling and thinking about nicking the picture and slapping it all over the internet.

  29. Matt – Thanks mate. TKnC looks fab and glad you liked the picture. Nick away my friend. I have no copyright on that one. The one where you're all in suspenders and fishnets is a different matter. ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. That's the one I'm most proud of. My first proper pair of stockings, didn't have to rub my legs with gravy granules and draw a line up the back of my legs with a felt-tipped pen.

  31. Nice one Lee! I remember those days well. lol
