No hard feelings? Speak for yourself. We lose, you're on my Nixon's list. 🙂
:-)It should be a great game. Goals from Rooney, Lampard and the new captain, Gerard. And an own goal from Landon Donovan. Muahahahaha!!!We should both go through to the next round though.
Are you kidding? I think most of Canada's cheering for England, mate!
Funny thing is Alan, most of Scotland will be cheering for America.
This is a soccer match, right?
David, of course. You're one nil down. 🙂
Hey David, I imagine England will get up…better than your Rugby team!! Go the Aussies!
I hope England win even tho' I don't normally watch the footie, because if they don't then there'll be national weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. But if I hear one more of those damnned kazoo-things around here (what IDIOT stocked them in our local ASDA?) I shall find the offending individual/s and ram said kazoo right up where the sun don't shine!
Rugby smugby!! Footbal and cricket, Paul. 🙂
what is this game of which you speak?
Kieran, this is a real game. Well, it used to be. Nowadays they are all overpaid primadonna's. But, hey, it's the World Cup. 🙂
i jest, i jest…
I know. My sense of humour gets the better of me… 🙂
David, couldn't beat the US? Doesn't bode well for the rest of the tournament. You only mention football and cricket cos it is something you lot have won something in recently. What about rugby and rugby league? Man, not even one of your politicians could win an election! 🙂 All in fun, my friend!
Well, that shite is the best we have to offer. They should pack their cases now. Overpaid, underworked total wankers. No disrespect to USA, but expextations over here are high and results are low. FUCK!!!!!!P.s. Apologies for the bad language. It killed me to hold back! 🙂
Paul. :-)Rest of the tournament? Algeria next, I don't hols much hope. I used to play rugby union so I do like the game, but footy at heart. Cricket…that's why I mentioned it. As for politicians, as I said in one of my earlier posts, I thought they'd executed them all when it was a 'hung parliament'. If truth be known, I'd rather be somewhere like where you are scuba diving. I'm too old with knackered knees for football and rugby etc. We'll get through………….I hope.
I don't think you will have much problem getting through. Rooney, Gerrard and a few others looked good – for large parts of the game. The excuse that Gerrard used – saying the team were shocked after the US goal was a bit of a cop-out. How much cash you guys on? Professional footballers?? I love sporting excuses!!!Scuba-diving in winter?? I really don't think so, buddy!!
Paul, I took and passed my rescue diving course in January a few years ago in 4 degrees of water. On one dive we surfaced and it was snowing. Fantastic!!! We'll always find some excuse or other. The lowest paid player on that pitch for us was probably on (at least) £60,000 a week, and it wasn't a convincing performance…by far!
Going back to who is cheering for whom…the fact that Scots are cheering for USA is sort of similar to Canada cheering for England. A kind of 'up yours' to your neighbour (or overlords, if you will). There should be lots of cheering in the pubs over the US tying the match!
Football…football, oh, you mean soccer? Kidding.True story: I have a shirt that I picked up at a discount store for a couple bucks…not even for sure of the team. Anyhow, we have this French bakery we go to and a couple of times I've gone in and the owner, who speaks no english, points at my shirt and wants to talk football. He seems so happy…I can't bear to tell him I have no idea what the fuck he's talking about! In terms of diving, David, I'll get my certification, you can come to Florida and we'll go down to the Keys- supposed to be a diver's paradise down there.
Hey, looks like we both won:)
Disappointed that we handed the US that goal and didn't take our chances, but hats off to them for being so resilient. Both teams will go through as the other two teams in the group are not up to much. At least a draw stops any bickering… stuffy ******s! 🙂
hhmmmm a better result for US than I expected. Or really… The best I expected was a draw…. thank goodness for beer….. something both sides in a match can enjoy… win, lose or draw!
